LWSC Choir Christmas Fellowship 2010

Our Christmas Fellowships get better and better and this one was the best one yet. It was held in the Officers Club at Fort McPherson. Everything was absolutely perfect... from the time choir members and their guests walked through the door and were greeted by our own (Retired Major General) Willie Alexander until the event was over. Every attention to detail had been made... from the festive decoration adorning the facility to the savory food that had been prepared for us - and there was plenty of it.

Since we had a brunch style buffet, we had food choices that included baked chicken, ham and turkey sliced as requested, crispy fried bacon, pork and turkey sausages, potato and egg casserole, grits, steamed cauliflower/broccoli vegetables, fresh fruit cocktail, tossed salad, various pies, cheese cakes, iced tea, hot coffee, orange juice, fresh rolls, and oh so much more.

The fellowship was not all about eating... we had loads of fun. Each table was encouraged to come forward and sing a Christmas carol and this was really the highlight of the day. We were blessed to have three of our musicians present to provide the music to accompany choir members during their musical selections. Elayne Hunter, our LWSC Facility Manager, started the ball rolling by gracing us with "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", and it really set the mood for others to come forward.

If you are wondering what is happening in the photos with Lloyd, money is being placed in his shirt pocket from female choir members as he sings, "The Christmas Song". By the end of his song, everyone knew who had his heart and, as you can see, he handed the money over to her, his one and only, Catherine. Get a look at that smile on her face!

Who can forget Mary's table as they sang Charles Brown's version of, "Merry Christmas Baby". Another notable performance came from Dorothy as she really got down performing her SO-LOW... Performances from choir members at the various tables were heart-lifting and inspiring.

After the singing came the line dancing... everyone knows you cannot end a party or fellowship without line dancing. Please take a few minutes and enjoy the pictorial review of the LWSC Choir Christmas Fellowship 2010.
